This covers section 2.2: Preparation and training methods in relation to maintaining and improving physical activity and performance- part 5. You get the students worksheet, teachers worksheet with answers and powerpoint. Students will have to use books (Roscoe and Roscoe) as well to answer the questions as there are independent studies in the worksheet. Plus exam questions at the end. Please note that you may need to alter the powerpoint as I do my lessons on a mac. Furthermore, I am dyslexic, there might be some silly mistakes made. • Describe the preparation for performance at altitude, heat and humidity training. • Analyse the strategies for speeding up recovery, i.e. cooling down, massage, ice baths, compression clothing.

This covers section 1.3: Neuro-muscular system (part 2) and goes hand in hand with AS PE Book by Roscoe and Roscoe. You get the students worksheets, teachers worksheet with answers and powerpoint. Students will have to use books as well to answer the questions as there are independent studies in the worksheet. Plus exam questions at the end. Apologise for any silly mistakes as I am dyslexic. Learning Objectives • Knowledge, understanding and application of the anatomy and physiology and the function of the neuro-muscular system during physical activity. • Understand the characteristics and anatomical make-up of the different fibre types. • Describe the different structure of each fibre type. • Explore the fibre recruitment patterns for endurance and power-based events Please note that in the powerpoint and worksheets things might move around so you will have to fix it on your computer if necessary, I do my work on a Mac.
