This is a visual attempt to present the content of the poem to EAL/ESL pupils, although it can be used for any students. It is designed to explain each line of the poem, by 'translating' the words to basic English, labelled duagrams, as well as adding video links (multimedia links and QR codes) to short videos on YouTube about the main themes of the poem.
This short presentation is designed for EAL/ESL students (but can be used in all ability classes) studying AQA GCSE Poetry Cluster 2, it contains visual explanation of each line of the poem, and is enriched in video links to YouTube videos on Trench Warfare, Infantry attack and reading of the poem at the end. The links are embedded within the presentation in two ways: as interactive links and as QR codes, so if you would like to give this presentation as a printed worksheet, students are able to find links to videos using any QR reader app on their mobile devices.
