In this resource you will find the causes of the Spanish Civil War (from 1930 until 1936 when the War started) and also explains the division of Spain in two groups (nacionales y republicanos) and the international support each country was getting. This lesson was created for a Year 9 group, set 2. The format is done in Power Point so it is completely editable. The focus is on the differences between ser and estar. Students will be introduced to some of the rules that we need to follow in order to choose one verb or the other. This is the ultimate Spanish Christmas Quiz. It has 10 rounds with all different tasks for students to complete. *Please be aware that not all tasks are Christmas related, but all are Spanish related. Students can complete this in a similar way to a Escape Room. I give them the first task and until they have completed it correctly they won’t get the next one. I also do not let them use tablets or Internet access except for tasks 18, 19 and 20. For the rest of them they can use a dictionary. Regarding the new A level specification, I am creating documents containing as much information as possible about popular events in Spain. I am from Seville, so I have started with ‘La Feria de Sevilla’ for obvious reasons. This document includes very detailed information about this event. It also includes a variety of activities.
