These resources span my career; from my period of teaching unqualified, through to an AST of English & Director of Teaching & Learning. Although my specialism is English, I have taught GCSE Citzienship, Language and Lit, Media Studies, Maths & History. I have also taught all of those at Key Stage 3, so there is an eclectic mix here. As the main trainer in my previous school, I have uploaded many insets and training session powerpoints too.

Each lesson is split by each paragraph of the essay and their is a guide for each paragraph. All resources ahve been uplaoded with the same title for ease of finding if you want to combine them, rather than use as standalone.

Shakespeare & Sonnets Scheme for Control Ass. Y10

This is a full scheme of work that consists of all lessons power points and resources - similar to the one that I've added for Richard III (if you want something less conventional). It&'s for the controlled assessment that compares a Shakespeare play with his Sonnets. The focus of the question is strong feelings of love.

These are a series of tasks that I used to recreate a work scenario for pupils by giving them the memos and asking them to create a product. The other resources help them to market their product.

Edexcel IGCSE & AQA Lang - Dual Scheme lsns -18

Luckily, we will never be in the position again where I have to teach 2 specifications at the same time to the same class. However, this is the scheme that I created last year when this was the approach adopted by the Head. Although these lessons are aimed at both specs, the full scheme is more IGCSE skills and texts than the AQA. My AQA scheme will be uploaded as a separate entity. 2 of these texts, I've uploaded before but the whole scheme makes sense when uploaded together. Remaining lessons are uploaded separately.

This is another of my schemes that is taught to year 9 in order to prepare them for spoken language study in years 10 and 11. This one uses clips from Educating Essex and teaches pupils key terms and then how to apply them - refers to the AQA mark scheme. All lessons and resources are here.

Letter Writing Level 3 - Writing to an Author

This is a mini scheme of work that gets pupils to engage with the stories of Roger Hurn and then to write to him. Roger is a contributor to the TES and was excellent at reading and responding to the letters from these level 3 pupils with SEN. They absolutely loved the letter that they received back as he addressed them all by name and it is still up in their classroom. This is a fab scheme for primary age / ability pupils.

Scheme Of Work Based On Teaching & teachers

This is a scheme of lessons that was used before the new ofsted criteria and can be a starting point if anyone wants to teach pupils about teaching and how to rate teachers . i.e for pupil voice initiatives. It's certainly far from the finished article but would be a good starting point for someone.

Boy In The Striped Pyjamas - Home Lesson PP

This is a full lesson PP - ready to teach - although you may wish to change / differentiate to your own context on the above named topic. I've uploaded lots of lessons and some that follow on from each other if you would like to use them all. Each has the same start to the title for ease of finding. This lesson covers the idea of home in relation to the novel.

Year 7 Transition Unit Intro To School Lesson 8

This is one of 11 lessons that combine to make a full scheme of work. The lessons are designed for teaching when the pupils first join secondary school and they are based on their early experiences of school. I have uploaded all lessons with the same title above and each has a PP (if I made it) and the resources with it. In the odd case, it will just be a lesson plan. Lesson 1 has a scheme overview attached for all lessons. You will want to adapt for your own school.
