12th Night Full lesson and Resources lesson
I have uploaded all 10 lessons of this scheme that leads to an analytical essay on the characters of 12th Night. There are poerpoints and resources for each lesson and there are 10 lessons altogether - llok for them by number if you would like to follow and adapt the scheme for yourself. Taught to Year 8 level 4/5
I have uploaded 20 lessons in this series in total - each with it's own resources where relevant. Each lesson Powerpoint can be taught as a standalone lesson, or used within the series. These are brand new lessons and they structure the reading of the novel, whilst analysing it. Designed for AQA Literacy specification. This lesson covers reading the chapter of Spider.
This resource includes a full Reading, Writing and Communication Policy for secondary schools, that is based on the KS2/KS3 Glossary for the National Curriculum. The SPAG terms from the glossary are split into each half term so that they can be incorporated into lessons for all teachers, across all subject areas.
In this resource, there is a full overview of the policy and then 3 Glossaries - one for three of the half terms. I didn't complete the other three, unfortunately. The glossaries are to support teachers of other subjects with some of the more difficult terms.
The policy includes the following:
Literacy Focus: - Based on what is being taught in English (reading and Writing)
Spelling Focus: - Taken from the KS2 programmes of Study
Spoken Language Focus: - Basics expected at all times / in all places – taken from the KS3 strands. Some additions based on recapping KS2 and developing those in KS3 POS.
Key Terms – Spread throughout the year using the Non-Statutory KS3 Glossary
Central to this policy is setting up Communication Leaders in schools, where pupils with strong literacy skills are trained to support those that may need it. Therefore, also included is the full training to set this up.
This is a full day session that I have put together aimed at D/C borderline students to help them to get top of Band 3 answers in the AQA Language exam. I was teaching a class of Pupil Premium boys, so the sessions are chunked, repetitive and feature really clear structures and methods to help the boys to see the clarity of how to tackle the paper with competitions and cooperative learning to boot!
A couple of lessons that uses a series of reading Image techniques in order to introduce the gothic genre prior to learning about gothic literature. The second focuses on how a writer creates atmosphere.

This is the end of my preparation For Working Life scheme for year 11 short course GCSE. All lessons and resources are uploaded on the same lesson stem and you can teach the whole course with these lessons, leading up to exam with coursework completion. I can only upload 20 resources per item, so the others are uploaded uner the same title but as lessons 1-12
This is one of several powerpoint lessons that I have uploaded on the novel Holes by Louis Sacher, ready to teach with it's resources (if aplicable). Although, you will wish to adapt and differentiate for your own class. They can be taught together to reach an assessment outcome but all are suitable as standalone exploratory lessons. This lesson covers the differences between British and American English.
Titanic SOW for Level 2/3 pupils(in KS3) lesson
This is one full lesson plan with the pp and resources (if I made them) that is part of a full scheme of work that I have uploaded. There are 18 lessons altoghter and they have all been uploaded separately. In some cases, there is only a lesson plan as I've planned it but not made all the PPs. I will add PPs as I create them. Aimed at year 7 who are below level 4 and utilises lots of Kagan practice.
This is one of the homework booklets that we've created for pupils in school. The year and level is indicated in the title. It covers essential English skills to help pupils to pass their GCSE in Language.

There are up 14 lessons, but the last three are covered by a writing frame as lessons 11 - 14. It's aimed at Key Stage 3 and was written in my PGCE year, so may need some updating and tying into APP criteria to upgrade it, but it's certainly a good starting place.
