SC5a Ionic Bonding worksheet

SC5a Ionic Bonding worksheet

To go with my GCSE Chemistry lesson “Ions and Ionic Bonding”. Answers to the first half of the sheet (covering key-term definitions and formation of some common ions) are included. Answers to the second half cannot be presented in the same way and are in the associated PowerPoint which can be purchased from my shop. They are pretty straighforward to figure out if you do not want to purchase the entire lesson.

Rate of Reaction Graphs GCSE Lesson (SC18a CC14a) Core Practical Prep

(2)
This PowerPoint (with suggested practical demonstrations) will allow you to teach a range of abilities about Rates of Reaction and how to plot them graphically. Contrary to the suggested teaching order, this lesson is best delivered after teaching about collision theory and factors affecting reaction rate. The lesson consolidates factors affecting reaction rate, demonstrates the techniques used in the subsequent core practical, and provides much needed practice at drawing, interpreting and annotating reaction rate curves. The resource meets all required specification points for the Edexcel 9-1 GCSE Chemistry course. It is accessible for students, easy to follow for teachers and is appropriate for Combined and Triple Science classes, Foundation and Higher tiers.

(2)
Full Lesson PowerPoint sufficient to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Dynamic Equilibrium. The resource is easy to follow for teachers and readily accessible for students. For Combined Science, Foundation students only need to cover the first two objectives; Higher tier candidates also need to learn about factors affecting the position of the equilibrium. Triple Science students also need to do the follow-up lesson (SC15b) on Factors affecting Equilibria. A clearer version of the worksheet can be downloaded from my shop in needed. Search for "GCSE Chemistry Haber Process worksheet to go with lesson CC12a SC12a “Dynamic Equilibrium”.

GCSE Chemistry COMPLETE Outline & Equipment List: Year 10 + 11 Edexcel 9-1 Combined & Triple Science

(2)
This provides an overview of all lessons needed to complete the Edexcel 9-1 Combined Science and Chemistry (Triple Science) courses. The document outlines what to teach in each lesson (sufficient to fully cover the new specification) and lists equipment for practical lessons wherever needed. Importantly, this document highlights which lessons are Higher Tier only and which are Triple Science only (many schools struggle to grasp this fully). I have found this order of teaching to be effective for gradually building skills and knowledge across two years. Moreover, it nicely breaks up the theory and practical-based topics. Please leave a brief review if you find this overview useful - thanks! BTW, all of these lessons have PowerPoints that can be purchased from my shop and the worksheets are generally available for free (unless copyright protected). Almost all of my lessons are also available in discounted bundles, just browse my shop - OnSpecScience.

Moles GCSE Lesson (SC9c CC9c)

(2)
These PowerPoints and worksheets will allow you to teach HIGHER TIER ONLY GCSE Chemistry content on Moles. This lesson introduces the concept of a mole in terms of Avogadro’s number, exemplifies how to calculate the number of moles from mass of a substance and vice versa, and shows how to use moles to calculate numbers of particles of a substance **There are two versions of this lesson and worksheet provided. One is aimed at Triple Science students only, as it includes coverage of concentrations in mol dm-3, which is something that Combined Science students do not need to learn ** Other lessons on Calculations involving Mass (including subsequent lessons on using moles) are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.

Electroplating & Copper Purification GCSE Lesson (CC10a SC13c)

(1)
This PowerPoint (containing a worksheet) will allow you to teach the GCSE 9-1 specification Chemistry lesson on Electroplating (Triple Science Only). It also contains slides that provide essential background for the Core Practical involving Electrolysis of Copper Sulphate (CC10a). The Core Practical prep can be taught separately but I find it fits better alongside electroplating for Triple Science classes. **Be aware: this lesson works best if you have access to Edexcel GCSE 9-1 Chemistry textbooks. It’s not essential; other resources can be used and all information needed for students to complete the worksheets is found in the slides. However, if textbooks are available, the worksheet can be completed as an independent learning task. ** Other GCSE lessons (including other lessons on Electrolysis) are available from my shop. They can be purchased individually or, alongside this lesson, as part of a whole-topic bundle.
