This is a whole lesson on Quadratic Sequences and goes through the easier method of subtraction to solve them. This method builds on their understanding of linear sequences. Another method of using substitution that leads to simultaneous equations is found in a separate lesson as it is a lot more challenging. Even though the majority of students will adopt the first method, the second method will strengthen students' skills in algebra and is a useful lesson to teach.
