Pupils learn about plan, front and side elevations and how to draw objects on isometric paper. The worksheet has an investigation into making objects with 5 cubes, as well as some challenging questions on building objects based on their elevations, with as few cubes as possible. Please note that the questions in Section B and the 'impossible shapes to make' are not my own and have been taken from other sheets found online. Pupils learn to calculate the volume and surface area of spheres using the relevant formulae. There is a selection of harder questions to challenge the more able on the sheet. In the powerpoint is a link to a demonstration of the formula (not involving calculus as students studying this topic most likely will not have encountered this yet!). Aimed at pupils studying the IGCSE, this lesson shows them how to estimate the gradient at points on a curve by drawing tangents. Includes a worksheet with answers (I'd strongly recommend they use the scale stated on the horizontal axis, otherwise the graphs get a bit squashed together!) Pupils imagine they are a secret agent. They have to get across each map without being detected by guards or security cameras. To do this they construct Loci to show which areas are safe and which aren't. If you like this resource then please check out my other stuff on here!
IMPORTANT NOTE: When the pupils start the task, say that the task is to show the areas which are UNSAFE. If you say they need to find a safe route through, they will all just estimate it without using the Loci!

This is based on something I saw on the TES a while ago, but I couldn't find it again! The pupils have to plan flights on various continents using Bearings to work out the direction of travel, and Speed, Distance and Time calculations. Pupils have to split shapes into congruent pairs by drawing lines on them. Makes teaching congruency more interesting and there is an extension activity for more investigation. I made this based on something I found in my old Maths books from school. As it happens there is also a Boardworks slide which does this really well too. I'm a big fan of the excellent group challenges created and uploaded to the TES by Chris Smith (https://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Maths-Group-Challenges-Puzzle-Sheets-6179530), so much so that we have built them into our scheme of work.
