This Earth Day assembly is 27 slides long and covers a range of things important for students to learn about in order to protect our planet for future generations and ensure animals and their habitats are safe from threat.
This assembly is 5-15 minutes
The assembly starts by introducing the 5 topics which will be covered. These include environmental challenges, sustainable living, renewable energy, conservation efforts, and environmental education. These is then a slide on the history of Earth Day and how it came about. The 4 slides on current environmental challenges goes over how things like climate change, deforestation, and pollution can negatively affects our planet (definitions included). Following that are 5 slides on sustainable living and how we can protect our environment through simple practices like using energy efficient appliances, using eco-friendly products, and reducing waste by reusing items. It them moves onto renewable energy and how the burning of fossil fuels is impacting our atmosphere and the health implications it has for humans. Conservation efforts is then covered with a slide establishing 7 things we can do to protect and preserve wildlife. There is then a slide explaining the importance of environmental education. Finally is 6 colourful photos there to remind us of how amazing our planet really is.

Christmas half term is a great time for students to relax ready for the new year and so making the most of fun activities is the perfect way to kick-start the Christmas break, whether that be during tutor time, assembly, or during the last lessons of term.
Christmas is a religious holiday which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ on the 25th December. Its traditionally a Christian holiday however our resources are made so that students of all ethnicities and religions can participate and have a great time doing so and hopefully win :)
