Pro forma to fill in for a mid-year review of progress.

Some ideas for those pupils who find target-setting for themselves difficult. Could be adapted for any MFL.

A set of phrases in English and French to match up to deduce perfect tense pattern with avoir. Lots of cutting to do, I’m afraid! Then a quiz sheet to see what they’ve learnt after you’ve told them how it works! Simple! :/

Jour de la Bastille Simple banner to decorate your room if you’re doing something Bastille Day related.

Spanish Grammar fui/fuiste etc. Great cover sheet. Copy the verb in the past and then complete sentences in Spanish and English.

Routine quotidienne: vocabulary test An A4 sheet with two identical vertical gap-fill tests on simple daily routine vocabulary. Extension at the bottom is to write about their own routine.

Saint Valentin: Mots cachés. Straightforward word search but with differentiation possibilities including translating the words- see second page. Would make a good starter or introduction to Saint Valentin vocabulary.

Verbs and tenses presented on 2 sheets which can be stuck onto wide 30cm rulers - one sheet either side for use in class as an aide-mémoire.

Simple intro' of masc/fem personality adjectives.

A booklet to aid ‘spontaneous’ TL speech in the classroom with Year 7. Print double sided. Plenty of space to fill in anything they come across and would like to remember. Final column in the grid shows how to pronounce the French.

Some holidays verbs in a grid in different tenses with English. Blank grid on second page for pupils to fill in themselves when they come across other verbs.

A guided sheet to work towards a speaking and writing on leisure in French. Change the "grade" bits to fit with what your school does!

Group activity. Once pupils familiar with vocabulary to describe houses, this can be attempted. First activity: fill in the sheet with the boxes by reading the letter text. Next, each group has a colour picture of a house and tries to create a description of it. They can then present the description to the class who can (hopefully) work out which house they are describing.

Leisure activities to categorise into genders.

Both verbs written out with gaps to fill in. Makes a good test to see if pupils have learnt the verbs! Or good quick revision starter.

Simple worksheet for Y7 about basic greetings.

Simple powerpoint to introduce which floor of a building. Mice will appear on the last slide to generate speaking.

Rapports Personnels French: Personal Relationships A bilingual vocabulary list about personal relationships in English and French. Should help to develop this tricky to articulate topic!
