In this lesson, students will fully understand the events which led to the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and how the assassination then triggered the First World War. Resource Updated 2023 This lesson gets students to examine the historic environment of Whitechapel with a focus on the features of poverty, housing and work. The lesson has a focus on students using sources about Whitechapel in the 1880s in order to understand what the environment was like and how this impacted people’s lives. Students will then have an opportunity to practice the ‘Two Features’ questions using the information they have collected.
