This lesson examines the causes and main events/features of the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955-56. Students have an opportunity to analyse the main causes as well as look at the details of the groups and individuals involved. UPDATED 2024 This lesson covers the teaching of the three Grand Alliance conferences at Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam. The theme of the lesson is the consequences of the conferences and the declining relationship with the Soviet Union. STARTER: A recap of of basic Cold War terms with an odd one out quiz. KEY QUESTIONS: Who were the Grand Alliance? What did they discuss? What were the consequences of the Conferences? BACKGROUND: An outline of the purpose of the meetings and their locations.
