CAT4 Verbal Reasoning: Verbal Classification Practice Paper

(0)
A tried-and-tested mock paper for the Verbal Classification portion of the CAT 4 test. This comes under the Verbal Reasoning battery which assesses students thinking with words. Verbal Classification questions involve three words in bold type. These words are similar in some way. Students must decide how they are the same. Then choose the word from the answer choices that goes with the first three words. This would be suitable for students from Level A-G. I have used this paper to support many tutoring students in preparation for their CAT 4 exams. This is an original mock paper that I have designed to simulate the question format and style of this part of the CAT 4 test. This mock paper also simulates the timed conditions of the CAT 4 test - 24 questions in 8 minutes, so 20 seconds per question. This can be used to assess difficulties with certain question types e.g. general vocabulary, verbs, complex nouns/adjectives etc. It can also be used to assess accuracy and speed, helping you to work smarter and on the areas the student specifically needs. An example question and directions are included at the start of the test. I have included a mark scheme at the end of the test. Each answer includes an explanations to help develop understanding. Read Write Inc (RWI): All Red Words

(0)
Are you always losing red words and having to buy another set from Oxford University Press? I created these red words in the style of Read Write Inc with the tricky parts circled and sound buttons/special friend lines below. They are double sided as per the red words provided for Read Write Inc. This means you can print out specific red words you need, or a new pack for any new read write inc teachers. This includes all red words from Speed Sounds groups up to Grey group in the order in which they come up. If you’d like to save some money on printing, this includes both a colour and a black and white version. These word cards are tried and tested. To make best use of these red words cards: Print out on strong enough card for teachers to hold up. Print these cards double sided so you have the blank word on one side and the side with the tricky part and sound buttons/special friend lines on. If you have any questions regarding this resource , please contact me at ryanfaers@gmail.com. Good luck in your Read Write Inc lessons!
