This is an introductory lesson into specialised cells. Pupils have the task of identifying the roles of different individuals and then the task of identifying the role of 8 different specialised cells. They have to join the dots to create a diagram for each cell and correctly match the definition to each cell.

This is an ‘excellent’ lesson created for an external observation. Comprises of a PowerPoint complete with a link to a video relating to organ donation, quick fire round with three organs that are regularly donated that pupils have to label and an Organ Donation strength and weaknesses worksheet. To complete the lesson pupils have to weigh up their own opinion on organ donation.
This is FULLY ANIMATED introductory lesson teaching the pupils the different types of graphs that we use in science. By the end of this lesson pupils will have an understanding of the different types of graphs and would have practiced constructing a series of line graphs. Graph paper is included and one is differentiated for the lower ability including a brief mark scheme to guide them. For the more able a pie chart has been included for practice.

This is an introductory practical lesson about measurement to demonstrate how pupils measure temperature and teaches them the importance of accuracy.

Starter Task: Thinking Skills question
Activity on on recording temperature. Pupils are asked to estimate the temperature of certain items and plot them on their worksheet. Then they are given the answer and asked to plot the temperatures correctly.

This Exit Task/Plenary is designed to draw out the findings of the measuring time activities. These being that the children will learn that using a stop click to seconds and hundredths of seconds will give them a precise time. However, this is not 100% accurate due to human error (reaction times). You should discuss how to improve on accuracy ( use of repeats and find an average).
