These Martin Luther King Jr. literacy activities has Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous 'I Have a Dream’ speech as the focus of this writing center. These are writing activities are also focused on the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The first activity is a Q & A trivia about Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, based on a brief biography (included). The trivia questions are presented on the faces of cubes so the kinesthetic students can have fun rolling the cubes to get a question to answer. Verbal/linguistic minded students can make a game of it by answering orally OR introverted students can write the answers out on the color coded answer sheets provided. An answer key is included. The second activity is focused solely on Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. In this activity, students go on a hunt to find his direct quotes from the speech. They can create an anthology of MLK quotes or write out their favorite quotes on mini placards. These can be put on display as a part of an Martin Luther King Jr. bulletin board display.
