These resources are useful for preparing students for unseen poetry or as part of key stage 3 schemes of work and/or as part of the teaching of conflict poetry clusters.
There is at least one power point presentations per poem which cover context, language, form and structure and contain assessment opportunities.

A complete English lesson that is based around Alan Peat’s Some ; others Sentences. This planning is suitable for use in KS2 classes. The planning is differentiated into 3 different levels.
This pack contains 3 weeks worth of planning on the unit - Fiction 1 - based around the book Dogger. The pack contains 3 weekly plans and some basic images to go with the story/plans. This planning can be used with ‘Stories with Familiar Settings’ units of work due to the story setting.

This folder contains a Literacy game suitable for use with Higher KS2/KS3/KS4 classes. The game is based on Pointless! the popular TV gameshow. The questions are based various English/Literacy areas including: Homophones, Terminology, Famous literary faces, etc.
These can be used with KS3 and some lower ability KS4 to consolidate what they should already know from KS2. The pupils complete the homework and each lesson they will complete a spelling test and then spend time peer marking the completed homework and consolidating the skills they are still struggling with from a variety of worksheets.
Each homework pack consists of different task/learning/activities, including:
Plural and singular/homophones/past, present, future tense. Each section is formatted the same with a spelling test, dictionary and vocabulary work and comprehension - some include extended writing.
Some sections of text from the list with comprehension: Pride and Prejudice/Wuthering Heights/Never Let Me Go. There are also some grammar exercises on the following: Semicolons/Apostrophes/Past, present, plural and singular and plural verbs.
Revisiting the idea of sentence structure and the effect of different types of sentences. It also addresses some ideas behind metalanguage and using this to understand feedback and improve work. Looking at literally and figuratively. Briefly exploring the world of idioms and how we can use this figurative language to unpick analysis. I have also included a section on how to write a PEARL paragraph - some may use PEE and PEA. Point, Evidence, Analysis, Reader Response and Link / Language (choosing a secondary quote or linking it to social and historical context). There are sections from Harry potter and Alice in Wonderland for comprehension and analysis. Also included the next round of alphabet synonyms.
It includes a section revising apostrophes, specifically looking at contractions and omitted letters. More metalanguage. Prepositions. 2 x extracts and comprehension questions on Pole 2 Pole by Michael Palin. A section on voice - active and passive and 1st/2nd/3rd person in storytelling. There are also the usual suspects - spelling lists, dictionary tasks, self-assessment and extended writing.
This pack contains some spelling lists that can be given to Reception/Year 1 students as homework or in class work to develop phonic skills and sound patterns.
