Students will learn about famous geographical features in South America including: the Amazon River, the Volcano Quizapú, the Lake Argentino, Machu Picchu Mountain, the Atacama Desert and Angel Falls. Students will learn where the geographical features are located on a map of South America and will describe their position in Spanish. They will learn adjectives to describe the features and use ‘es + modifiers’ to write a description. Finally students will create a leaflet, promoting South America as a tourist destination.

Spanish Christmas Cards - a PowerPoint presentation to support writing Christmas cards in Spanish. Simple slides with common Christmas greetings in Spanish. One slide has English translation and one slide is without.
Christmas in Spanish Board Game Navidad Juego de Mesa
A board game to practice vocabulary for Christmas. Works well on its on or could be used in conjunction with the games and activities in my resource ‘Spanish Christmas Navidad Español’ (£3). Students to play in pairs or small groups. Vocabulary includes:
Father Christmas – Papá Noel
Christmas tree – arból de navidad
baubles – bolas de navidad
elves – elfos
reindeer – reno
presents – regalos
snowman – muñeco
star – estrella
Students roll the dice and count on that number of spaces. When they land on a picture students must say the correct vocabulary. If students land on circle, they must go back ‘retrocede’. If they land on a diamond, students go forward ‘avanza’. Great for practicing vocabulary and getting the whole class talking. You can give extra points for students counting the number of spaces in Spanish and using the phrases ‘te toca a ti’ (it’s your turn) and ‘me toca a mi’ (it’s my turn).
