1. Character Reproducible This page makes a great center activity or time filler. Your students will enjoy making up their own characters! You can give them a prompt for writing below their illustration, on the lines provided, or let them decide what to say about their creation.
2. You Can Draw! Reproducible Many students feel discouraged when asked to draw, so I made this handmade reproducible to help them feel confident enough to get started.

Use this 8.5" x 11" PowerPoint Poster Making resource as a culmination to your own Earth Day or Save the Earth unit.
I use the Super 3 format. Students use the reproducible to PLAN their poster before even touching the computer. This way you can approve their work before the computer fun begins. Then they make (DO) the poster. Finally, after they print it, they REVIEW what they liked about their poster and what they would do differently next time.
I've done this project successfully with 1st grade students just beginning to learn basic computer skills. Step by step teacher directions are provided so you can break the project into simple tasks for the students.
This packet includes:
* Earth Day Poster Planning Sheet reproducible
* Word Bank with prepopulated words
* Blank Word Bank for your students to brainstorm words
* 3 Sample Posters
* Essential Question
* I Can statements
* Teacher Directions
You are purchasing 2 figurative language games ready to print.
These are a fun way to reinforce the literary device concepts and vocabulary! Perfect for a Center activity since it is self-checking!
Game #1: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole
Game #2: puns, alliteration, idiom, onomatopoeia
For each game, there are 8 game cards for each concept, 32 total. Each card has a color graphic on it that matches a box on the Answer Board. After a student states which literary device is being used, he places it on the Answer Board on top of the matching clip art. If the answer was correct, he gets to color in a square on the reproducible Game Board. Play goes back and forth until one student gets 4 In a Row colored.
It's easy to do variations of the game just like BINGO. Players can agree that they will get 5 in a row, or 4 in the shape of a stamp to win.
You will want to print these games ahead of time as a bit of preparation is needed. You will have to cut out the game cards and glue the 3 page answer board together.
You can photocopy the game board or mount it on construction paper and laminate it to use with vis a vis markers over and over again.

Easy research center idea for elementary students. I have used this successfully with students in my Media Center. They LOVE being able to research a topic of THEIR choice!
This research center reproducible gives students a structured research process for them to follow using a NONFICTION BOOK of their choice.
They are guided to pick a topic, ask questions about it, locate the book, write notes on the back, and even cite their source by writing the bibliographic information for the book they used.
Includes I Can statements to post at your Research Center.

This story planning sheet encourages students to write and/or draw the beginning, middle and end of their story.
I have used this successfully with K-4th grade students. Students with special needs are able to draw their ideas while I circulate. They can then dictate their sentence when I sit with them.
Thanksgiving turkey bookmarks. “Gobble up a Good Book!” 4 to a page.
They come in full color as well as B&W. Students love to color their own, and it’s economical to photocopy them!
