These insect life cycle foldable activities make a fun addition to science books. This set of resources looks at the life cycle of a butterfly, honey bee, ladybird and dragonfly.
Pupils will love creating their foldout, then opening to reveal the life cycle inside. These could be used for a lesson on insects or minibeasts, life cycles or habitats.
There are different options allowing you to differentiate the activity if required:

Skeletons Classroom Display
Create an eye-catching and informative skeletons and bones themed display. This resource contains the following:
‘BONES’ title letters. There are 2 design options (one with a pattern, the other with bone-shaped letters).
Skeleton poster (a mixture of scientific and common names used). A version is included for A3 and A4 sizes.

Give your life cycle studies a Halloween twist with this set of foldouts. This resources features templates for the life cycles of a bat, owl, pumpkin and spider.
You could use them to compare the life histories of a bird, mammal, plant and arachnid. They are also great for interactive science notebook or as science centres.

These fun accordion foldable activities are a lovely addition to interactive science notebooks and support learning around spring, seasonal changes and life cycles. They are a cross between a worksheet and a craft activity!
This resource is a bundle of 4 life cycle template sets - frog, bean, daffodil and chicken.
Each foldout breaks down the life cycle into 4 or 6 parts. There are options to simply colour the template, cut out and fold (and insert into a notebook if required). Alternatively, there is also an option to add a step of ordering the life cycle stages and gluing them onto the template.
Pupils could complete a foldout, then research the animal/plant they have chosen to find out more about the stages of its life cycle (e.g. the length of each stage). Guidance for this is not included.

Penguin life cycle foldout
A fun and simple science activity all about the life cycle of a penguin. This activity could be used to support a lesson on birds, the Antarctic, or penguins.
This resource has 2 similar templates.
Christmas tree life cycle foldout
A fun, seasonal activity to help children understand the life cycle of a Christmas (coniferous) tree from seed, to sapling, to the adult tree and seed cones.
Use this activity for interactive science notebooks, or to support a unit on plants, life cycles, or Christmas traditions/celebrations.
There are 6 similar options to allow you to differentiate for your students or to use with different age groups.
Making gingerbread
This foldable sequencing activity allows students to order the stages of making/baking gingerbread. It is designed to help develop thinking and fine motor skills.
You could add the finish foldouts to interactive notebooks, use this to support learning around The Gingerbread Man story, or as a fun Christmas activity or center.
Students cut out the stages, put them in order on the template, before cutting and folding. They will love bringing the 2 halves of their gingerbread foldout together, then gently pulling it apart to show the stages inside.
There are 3 similar versions included, including one with a straight cutting edge for those children who would struggle to cut around the outside of the gingerbread man.
How to build a snowman
This cut and paste sequencing activity allows students to order the stages of building a snowman.
Students cut out the stages, put them in order on the template, before cutting and folding. They will love bringing the 2 halves of their snowman foldout together, then gently pulling it apart to show the stages inside.

Teach the stages of fossilisation with this folding ammonite craft. Print on A4 card ready for pupils to colour and fold like a concertina. When closed, you’ll just see the large fossil ammonite but when opened, the fossilisation process will be revealed!

Your class can become palaeontologists! This activity consists of 15 full colour photos of different fossils with labels to match (pictures can be printed with or without a background). Fossils include ammonites, a mosasaur tooth, megalodon tooth, shells, coral and a plesiosaur backbone.

Children can pick the design that best matches their hairstyle. They then draw eyes, eyebrows, skin/hair colour, and lips, creating a self-portrait!
