A worksheet which on one sides gives an overview of the NHS Constitution and the values that all NHS employees must follow. On the reverse, students use the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Values (Kindness, Openness, Excellence) to analyse their work experience so far to find examples of where they have met values. The aim is that students can then use these identified examples for personal statements and interviews. They can also use the analysis to find gaps in their work experience to provide some guidance of what they need to do before they begin their applications.

An activity to encourage aspiring medics to research into the wide variety of medical specialties/hospital departments there are. Aimed at students study A-Levels and interested in applying for medicine at university. Students are given a list of medical specialties (e.g. renal, ophthalmology, hepatology) and have to research what the specialty/team do. E.g: Renal - kidneys, e.g. dialysis; ophthalmology - eyes, e.g. cataracts, surgery, trauma…)

A powerpoint which gives advice to aspiring medics (doctors, surgeons or GPs) and students planning to apply to medical school. It covers the Medical Schools Council (MSC) advice on what work experience a student should complete. It also includes the NHS Constitution, the Core Values and Attributes the MSC expects students to be able to evidence and advice from the Hull York Medical School. Finally, it includes some tips on where you could get work experience with some specific examples (aimed at students in York and surrounding areas).
