The lesson is loosely based on the board game the game of life. The students are split into groups and have different scenarios that they must chose and then record the consequences of their decisions. These are both good and bad. This will lead all the students to get into some for of debt, i.e. and overdraft, loan or student loan which they must repay. Each round is a different scenario that people might face in life. The students all record their incomings and outgoings on the record sheet, as well as keeping track of their debt and repayments they are making. The lesson ends with a discussion around the topics of debt management, interest and is debt a bad thing?

A Branding lesson which starts with the students undertaking a taste test - the Pepsi challenge. You will need to get the products for this. To add a twist to this I swapped the Pepsi for Coca-Cola so the students could then think about why they are attracted to the outside rather than the inside. This led to some in depth discussion. It then looks at building chains of analysis whilst looking at the pros and cons of branding. A really interesting and engaging lesson which helps to develop students depth of thinking.

An assessment and mark scheme for the OCR Cambridge National Enterprise and Marketing covering Learning Outcomes 1 to 4. This includes the topics of break-even, revenue and promotion. The assessment uses some of the questions from the SAM’s as well as some designed by me. The Mark Scheme is developed in the style of the OCR SAM and as such provides support and guidance to both students and teachers. The feedback builder is designed to engage students with their feedback as they build this themselves using green pen. To use the feedback builder: Mark the first 6 questions but DO NOT indicate if it is right or wrong - the students then find and fix their mistakes using their textbooks etc. Mark question 8 - however provide the students at least one question to improve their answer. Mark the final question, however DO NOT provide any feedback just provide a mark for the student.
