Clive has two homeworks to do on equations of lines but as usual he has made mistakes that need correcting and explaining so that he never makes those mistakes again. This is designed to create discussion and the second one is more challenging than the first.

This was my attempt to get a worksheet that incorporates all the basic loci: perpendicular bisector, angle bisector, from a point and shading a region. You could add stuff if you like, but I ran out of room for the instructions, hence just the 4 tasks. The answers are rough based on the ones I did with pencil and compass.

I needed something for students to plot quadratic, cubic and reciprocal functions on that wouldn't mean that half the lesson is taken up with drawing axes. I added exponential functions at the end as an extension. It literally does what it says on the tin stopping short of circles, and hopefully some might be able to draw conclusions from the positions of the functions.

Having really struggled with a class over solving equations I came up with this idea of finding out how many MP4 players are in a box. It's an attempt to make solving equations more accessible, including multiplying out brackets.

This worksheet is an attempt to get students comfortable with algebra, angles and proof. This starts with angles around a point and on a line and asks students to write down any relationships between angles. We then move on to polygons (including triangles) and look for relationships. The next stage is parallel lines and their angle properties, asking studetns to write angles in terms of another angle. Finally we have circle theorems and some simultaneous equations moving on to a couple of proofs. This should generate discussion and is designed to do so, especially the parts involving algebra plus the need to explain the angle property used in each case.

This worksheet activity is designed to be used as a simple introduction to rearranging formulae in algebra, but getting students to calculate using the formula initially before rearranging it to work backwards using inverse operations.

This is a twist on revision notes. I have written some notes and given examples but there are mistakes that the students have to correct.
