I have been a teacher for over 20 years - all the stuff I upload has been tried and tested in my classroom. I don't mind a discussion on Twitter too where I also share new resources. I now have a personal website: https://andylutwyche.com/

The Best Deal

(2)
This is an exercise in finding the best way of buying what a customer wants given four different “deals” on pricing. You can buy more than required but not less which should add an extra bit of challenge. Workings are essential and I have provided answers on a separate slide each time. There are five to work out and this should lead to nice mathematical discussions. I have also put this in a format that could be used easily online if this is desirable.

Legoland Scale Models

(2)
The bosses at Legoland are building a new scale model of the UK and need your help with the scales. Basically fill in the blanks.
Exploding Linear Graphs

Exploding Linear Graphs

(2)
This is designed to test all aspects of y=mx+c. There are 4 different "explosions" of increasing difficulty that should encourage discussion in class and hopefully develop deeper understanding of the concept of equations of lines.
Angles Matching

Angles Matching

(3)
This takes students through simple angles properties (straight line, triangle, full turn etc) to parallel lines to angle properties of polygons and finally to circle theorems. These are not designed to fill a lesson with practice but as starters or plenaries which lead to discussion. The matchings reassure students that their answer is correct or that they may need to check their answers carefully; I have found that the "spare" question is checked far more carefully than with an exercise from a text book.

Andy's SSDD Questions 5

This idea is from Craig Barton and is an excellent one (check them out his at website); essentially it is four questions based on the same information. There are four here which use average, area, quadratics, cubics, speed, sequences, angles and time as well as other topics. This really should create discussion and a deeper understanding of the topics covered on top of ensuring that students actually read the question. I hope these are worthy! I will be using these as starters or plenaries.
Constructions

Constructions

(1)
This (hopefully) does what it says on the tin: I wanted some sheets for students to construct triangles and bisectors so produced this. The constructions all fit in the boxes provided as long as you print them out on A4 paper. We start with constructing triangles, then bisectors, then a rhombus and a perpendicular line from a given point before finishing with couple of challenges (Yin-yang, incircle and circumcircle). Like I say, it is not designed to be flashy just practical.
Fractions Matching

Fractions Matching

(1)
This is aimed to cover as many aspects of fractions as possible: equivalence, of an amount, adding/subtracting, multiplying dividing but in a fashion so that they have to think about it rather than just have hundreds of questions doing essentially the same thing.
Crack The Safe - Solving Quadratics

Crack The Safe - Solving Quadratics

(3)
Three “Crack The Safe” activities on solving quadratics, one by factorising, one by completing the square and one by using the quadratic formula; each question (6 on each sheet) has three possible solutions. These allow students to self-check their answers from the possible solutions whilst the teacher can go and help those who require it. I use these for starters or plenaries or as the first task after introducing the topic.
Bar Graph Problems

Bar Graph Problems

(2)
I just wanted something that covers bar graph; this covers “normal”, comparative and composite bar graphs and is designed, in two cases at least, to create discussion.
Equations of Circles Matching

Equations of Circles Matching

(1)
This is designed as a plenary or starter and should encourage discussion regarding the equation of a circle and it's centre/radius. Four different matching activities to try out of increasing difficulty.
