Use this project to help build a class altar for Día de los Muertos. Students are required to pick someone to honor for Día de los Muertos and celebrate their life by bringing in a picture, a sugar skull, and an offering. I’ve included 3 different versions of this project to fit three different levels of Spanish: Spanish 1: Write 25 words using present tense Spanish 2: Write 50 words using the preterite tense Spanish 3: Write 120 words using the preterite and imperfect tenses • Sugar_Skull_Box: a small craft project so that students have something to put on the ofrenda. It makes a box so they can add their offering inside.

Complete unit about Animals and pets. A detailed Powerpoint presentation which includes vocabulary, colours, plural forms and pet descriptions. I attached a very fun battleship, an animal game (snakes and ladders style), a handout with a vocab list useful to revise and a sheet for an animal survey. I also attached a worksheet that will help your kids with the secret sentence and a worksheet for homework. My Year 7 groups simply loved them :)

A careers test to assess the kind of jobs students might like to do. They are then guided to discuss the results with a partner in Spanish before writing some career advice for their partner.

This is a short PowerPoint about El Día de los Muertos. This is intended for elementary students, but can be adapted to different levels. This was created to support my teaching and now I am sharing it with you. All the pictures and videos used in the PowerPoint were free resources found on the internet. Some of the suggested resources in the last slide are paid resources. You can edit the PowerPoint, change fonts, background colors and add more slides! The PowerPoint includes the link to create your own online Ofrenda on the Smithsonian Latino Center!

Some useful resources to revise “El Laberinto del Fauno”. In the first presentation, where the plot is summarized, you can copy and paste it, cut it into sections and give one part to each one of your students. They will need to read them aloud and find the correct order and recreate the story. The presentation about TRIO, it is a “feedback lessons” in which pupils can recognise their main mistakes and correct them.

A great lesson to get your students talking and writing about pocket money - and how to spend it. The PowerPoint introduces the topic and provides reading, (teacher-read) listening and speaking activities plus vocabulary games. A vocabulary mat is also provided to support higher-level writing using different tenses. All the instructions are in the last page of the handout!!!
