There are two questions for each song, each one comprising the questions, a skeleton score and mark scheme, as well as precise instructions on which extract to play from the Anthology recording or from a YouTube link, whichever works better for you. Great for use in class or for setting as independent or revision work, if you give your students the mark scheme. Can be printed out or easily uploaded for a digital classroom.

You will need to add a YouTube link and listening question as suggested but everything else is there for you. This SoL has given great results for my students and has been revised and developed. The teaching notes and template contain eight practice 30-mark questions and a glossary, as well as a list of suggested research tasks to help set the music in its cultural context.
A complete course for harmonising Bach Chorales, Book 1. Introduces 4-part harmony for Edexcel A Level Music, with explanations and practice exercises. Suitable for downloading and printing, this work book will take students through the first year of their A Level Music harmony course. It starts with an introduction to 4-part harmony and teaches basic cadences, key cadential formulas and gives practice in harmonising short phrases. (Book 2 will take them to the final harmony exam). No additional resources required.

It builds on from Book 1 of the course, introducing more complex chord sequences and typical Bach stylistic features, to help your students get the highest marks at A Level. Includes all explanations and lots of practice exercises, including complete chorales. No additional resources required.
A fully resourced 6-lesson SoL for Year 7, based on understanding parallels with different art forms. Students will appraise various paintings and music, looking at parallels, before composing their own original piece based on a painting of their choice. The scheme gives options for using notation or not, as you prefer. It comprises 6 sets of lesson slides, composing and self-evaluation sheets, assessment criteria, stimulus sheet and lesson overview. All the music is chosen and you will just need to add the YouTube links as suggested (about 10 minutes work!). There are printable options for worksheets but it is also easily convertable to a digital format if required. This SoL has worked brilliantly for my Year 7s and really helps to focus on the musical elements and their own musical imaginations.

This two-book bundle is a complete course in harmonising Bach Chorales for students preparing for the Edexcel Music A Level. Designed for you to print out, Part 1 takes them from an introduction to 4-part harmony, through the four cadences to recognising and using Bach’s fingerprint cadential patterns. Part 2 introduces modulations and more complex chord patterns, as well as some key stylistic features that will help them achieve the highest marks in A Level exams. All explanations and exercises are included. No other resources needed.
