I am a teacher who has worked with SEND pupils, especially those with literacy problems. I have also taught English as a foreign language. For several years I worked with Easylearn publishers, developing resources for children struggling with English and Maths. I am one of the creators of the Froggy Match-it phonics app, which helps beginner readers to learn to read and spell effectively.

These three books are ideal for pupils who are just beginning to write sentences. They help develop motor skills, counting and writing. Each book covers the main colours and the numbers to 10. This book gives an excellent introduction to Onset and Rime work. It includes cut and stick activities and incorporates nursery rhymes which appeal to younger children. It has a useful introduction section which bridges the gap between oral/aural and written rhyming work. This book is very helpful for those children who are not succeeding with a purely synthetic phonics approach. Includes sheets to make word-building cards or booklets.
