Wesak Day (Buddha Day) is on 19th May 2019. Wesak is the most important festival for Buddhists. Use these teaching resources to support learning of the Wesak Religious Festival.

Wesak, also spelt Vesak is the most important Buddhist festival and is also known as Buddha Day, or Buddha’s Birthday. It is celebrated annually on the full moon of the ancient lunar month of Vesakha, which usually falls in May, or in early June.
In 2024, Wesak falls on Thursday 23rd May.
