A great revision tool to use with your year 6 class in the run-up to SPaG SATs. This resource is a PowerPoint containing 50 SPaG questions based on past test papers. A collection of 10 worksheets, 10 activities and 10 starters (in the form of a PowerPoint) to use with your year 6 class in the run-up to SATs. The ten topics covered are those that my class were finding difficult, so I decided they needed a bit of extra revision! The worksheets use questions that are based on the SATs SPaG papers, plus a few extras. The activities are perfect for group work and prepare your class for SATs in a more interactive way. The slideshow can be used for fillers, starters or plenaries. You can also put the three together to make 30 minute lessons on these tricky topics! For example, start with the slideshow to recap prepositions, before splitting your class into groups to do the interactive activity. Finish with an individual worksheet to check each child’s understanding. The topics included are: Brackets Hyphens Prefixes Root words The subjunctive Prepositions Pronouns Tenses Adverbs Main and subordinate clauses

Romeo and Juliet Assembly - Shakespeare

Romeo and Juliet Assembly - Shakespeare

(0)
This is a plan for an assembly about why we shouldn’t always follow the crowd, with a focus on William Shakespeare’s play ‘Romeo and Juliet’. There is a PowerPoint included that tells the story of Romeo and Juliet. The plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute! I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. This assembly not only uses the Shakespeare story to introduce the theme, but allows the leader to tell an anecdote linked to a school scenario. You can use the example in the plan or use an anecdote from your own childhood. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with. (The PowerPoint is also available separately.)
