a good summer activity that gets pupils looking at the cost of different types of accomodation at music festivals and drawing graphs of the data

I used this as an assessment for my pupils when they reached the end of the topic on maps for their GCSE course. I downloaded two model towns off the internet one from iceland and one from paraguay (the website was called bogus places, can be found by searching for free paper models) and got the pupils to construct a 3d town and then asked them to use their knowledge of maps scales and bearings to produce a map of the town describe how to get to one of the places and produce scale drawings, when the project is finished it makes a really nice display

a good homework sheet possibly for pupils to plot a graph of the conversion rates between different currencies and then answer some simple questions using that graph
