Designed for use at circle time/carpet time. A set of 5 questions describing 5 different zoo animals. Each question is made up of 3 hints, each getting easier. Could differentiate for younger children by displaying images/toys of the animals while they are listening to the questions/hints. This resource was inspired by Sorting Sprinkles blog - zoo week for pre-schoolers 2.

A sheet to analyse the Reception cohort data term upon term. Three main columns - percentage of children scoring 1-3 points, 4-8 pounts, 9 points. Columns split down for Baseline, end of Autumn, Spring and Summer term results. I have also used the table as a way of recording 3 year baseline and also end of year results. Very useful for OFSTED/SLT discussions.

If using with EAL children, establish the typical development in their home language; if normal pattern, English should be obtained fairly easily. If home language delayed, there will be a delay in learning English. Very useful also for EYFS.
