Creative Writing Prompt Cards
A set of 72 writing prompt cards, can be used as a differentiation or scaffolding resource to support learners with their creative writing.
Students pick from a choice of 24 cards from each category: character, setting and object and use these as a basis for their own creative piece.
Can also be used for SEN / EAL / lower ability.

Lady Macbeth A3 Quote Bank
An A3 document that contains the key quotes from the character of Lady Macbeth, along with links to themes, context and useful adjectives.
Perfect as a revision document or to be used as part of a lesson.

As a differentiated resource for SEN students
Stuck on the wall for students to refer to when needed
For use as a starter (students identify 5 words that they don’t know an define them/ use them in a sentence)

This table is also colour coded to allow students to quickly and easily locate the evidence that they need. This three page table can be used in a variety of ways: stuck in to the back of workbooks, as a revision aid or as a differentiated resource for SEN/EAL/lower ability students.

A fun and engaging way to help students learn and revise basic comprehension. Students are shown a short extract and asked to remember as many details from the extract as they can. Scanning Game (Starter / Plenary)
A fun game that helps to improve students’ ability to scan for information.
Can be used as a stater / plenary.
HOW TO PLAY
Students are given a printed sheet containing a grid of 225 words. The teacher then reads out a statement from one of the 100 provided, such as: “Find something with a long nose”. The students must then scan through their sheet and find a correct word, such as “elephant”. The student who finds a correct word the fastest gains a point. The student who receives a total of ten points first is the winner of the game.
Whilst answering it is usually best for the students’ to place their finger on the answer and then to put their hand up for the teacher to check. (Otherwise I have found that they tend to shout out an answer without identifying it on the sheet!)
Can be played individually or in small groups.
