Quotation Table for A Christmas Carol

Key quotes from throughout the book
A simple explanation of each quote
Where the quote is placed in the novella
Each quote is color coded for students to be able to easily locate the evidence that they need. Fantastic as a resource to be embedded within the lesson (I stick it in the back of my student’s notebooks), as a revision document or as differentiation for SEN/EAL/lower ability groups.
Language Features (Poetry and Prose) Table
A list of all the basic language features used in both poetry and prose.
This includes the term, an example and a basic definition.
Works well as a revision aid for students, or simply as a glossary to be stuck in at the front/back of work books.
Can also be used to differentiate work for SEN/EAL students.

Word Banks - Creative Writing (Language Paper 1 Question 5)
A collection of four word banks -
Adjectives
Adverbs
Emotions
To use instead of ‘said’
These are perfect for expanding vocabulary and encouraging students to include more ambitious vocabulary in their work.
I have used these banks in several ways, including:
Sticking them in to the back of students’ books
Laminating sheets to give to students either individually or as a table/group
As a differentiated resource for SEN students
Stuck on the wall for students to refer to when needed
For use as a starter (students identify 5 words that they don’t know an define them/ use them in a sentence)
As a reference for spelling
Spelling and Phonics Cards
This pack contains 18 spelling cards (two per each page) that can be used as part of a spelling/ phonics intervention, starter, plenary or as part of a planned lesson. This pack contains the words that my students have consistently struggled to spell.
Each card contains three sections:
Make - Students have to make the word out of Play-Doe, sand, etc within the outline provided.
Look- The word is then used in a sentence with an image.
Write- Students write the word between the handwriting guide lines.
Write- Students write the word without the help of the guide lines.
These cards should be printed, cut out and then laminated in order for them to be re-used. All you will need is a dry-wipe pen and a tub of Play-Doh (or similar.) This activity works well as a more active alternative to the standard ‘look, cover, write’ method of teaching spellings.
