This e-book contains a buddy program for elementary aged students.
This program is quite structured in nature. Two classes are involved in the program - an older and younger class (e.g. Grade 5 with a Grade 1 class). Each child is given a partner or a buddy by the class teachers. These pairings are decided upon by both teachers after considering the special needs and capabilities of each child. The same partners are kept for the whole year so that a strong bond develops between the two students.
These activities enable children to learn from each other in a caring and friendly environment; develop academic, social and personal skills; display an awareness and a need to care for others; develop the skills of responsibility, understanding and tolerance; assist the younger students with their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills; display a greater awareness of the world around them; and develop an awareness of the concept and value of friendship.

The Striving to Improve Series targets students who, for whatever reason, are struggling to keep up with their peers. The activities in the books are designed to prevent students from regressing any further at school. The tasks are based on a modified curriculum so that students can work at their own pace and without constant supervision from the teacher.
The children who you teach may be struggling with their school work because they have been diagnosed with learning difficulties such as ADHD or dyslexia. They may be struggling because of social factors which have resulted in them missing a lot of school. Whatever the reason, this book, Writing Book 2, will help students begin to write more clearly, accurately and confidently.
Activities in this book link to relevant and appropriate curriculums for Years 5 and 6, so children feel that what is being asked of them is actually achievable. To make the tasks more manageable, they have been broken down into small parts which gives each student the opportunity to process one idea at a time. Time limits have been either abandoned or made flexible for students so success becomes a habit rather than a rarity.

Life Skills US: Bullying and Conflict includes activities and strategies for coping with bullying at school and exploring conflict resolution through a problem solving approach. Includes role-play cards.
Activities suit most elementary/middle grades.
There are numerous resources and articles about teaching values, dealing with grief, addressing bullying and the like, however, most of these articles and programs outline strategies for dealing with the problem at the wholeschool level. While this is indeed a very appropriate way to deal with such matters, it has become obvious that there is a lack of ready-to-use materials for the actual classroom teacher. The Life Skills activity sheets aims to fill the gap between the frameworks set out by national bodies and the delivery of practical and meaningful lessons in the classroom.

Maths Rescue 3 – Number: Applications is the third book in the series created for classroom teachers, the focus of which is on the reinforcement of “the basics” in maths, as well as activities aimed at developing understanding of mathematics concepts. Students with Specific Learning Difficulties experience a range of problems with their academic learning. These problems include word recognition and comprehension; coping with pages that are too cluttered and with too many differing requirements; being able to sequence, recall and apply strategies in abstract situations; striving to process information while working to meet deadlines and having trouble with personal organisation with their school work.
While the books in this series are designed for students with learning difficulties, they can be used as a simple and straightforward introduction to concepts or a reinforcement of mathematical strategies for the whole class. The books follow a basic format, with each activity usually containing a choice of two worksheets to cater for a range of ability levels.
Each book contains:
Information on Specific Learning Difficulties: Information from a variety of referenced sources including online literature from recognised Australian organisations. Includes descriptions of the various learning difficulties and ideas for strategies in the classroom and at home;
Student Lifesavers: Clearly presented charts designed as a “basic facts” reference for students who are working though more difficult maths concepts;
“Parent Power” Pages: Informative pages for parents on each mathematical unit. These pages include terminology, mathematical strategies, examples and reinforcement ideas for the home and community;
Progress Charts: Students can keep an ongoing record of their homework achievements.

Long Vowel Sounds is the third book in a series of four entitled Cut and Paste Phonics US. This book has been created for students in Grades 1 and 2, and is designed to be used in conjunction with any regular class spelling program. Each task has been carefully constructed to help lower elementary students recognize, using pictorial clues, the relationship between letters and sounds. The cut and paste aspect of the book not only offers an alternative to written worksheets, but also encourages children to become more dexterous with scissors.
Every book in the Cut and Paste Phonics series provides worksheets which:
• are fun for students;
• focus on letter sound knowledge;
• can help strengthen fine motor skills (e.g. cutting, pasting and hand-eye coordination skills);
• require students to listen to and follow a set of instructions;
• follow a similar structure - so that students can complete activities independently.
