Looking for different ways to help students, I saw on Twitter the idea of a ladder reflecting elements needed for grades. It starts with an easy present tense sentence and finishes with a sentence which includes an indirect object pronoun. This resource can be used at the start of a lesson, to test how much students know on a particular subject or can be given as homework for students to work independently. Full booklet on Theme 1 can be found here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/gcse-vocabulary-and-grammar-training-identity-and-culture-12066070

I came up with some sample sentences for students to refer to past and future on the topic of school. This resource can be particularly useful for those students who struggle to manipulate verbs - you could ask them to memorise a couple of sentences for each topic in preparation for their speaking or writing exam.
