There are several science based rounds (including CB1-6 specific questions from the Edexcel combined science GCSE that I’m sure fits with other schemes), as well as some generic rounds.
A collection of 3 lessons looking at the Science of Superheroes and students designing their own superhero. Used with year 7 students, but could be used for the rest of KS3 and higher up KS2. All worksheets are included within the PowerPoint (as hidden slides, that just need printing off).
Lesson 1:
Starter-listing superheroes and thinking how we can group/classify them.
Activity- look at origins of powers, types of powers and features to think about in designing a costune. Introduce task of designing a superhero, start some rough planning work.
Plenary- thinking how magnetic powers might be useful in day to day life.
Lesson 2:
Starter- true or false activity about real life 'superpowers'.
Activity- designing superhero, thinking about powers and origin of powers.
Plenary- what does groot need to grow/survive.
Lesson 3:
Starter- peer assess each other work around the classroom using post it notes, then making some improvements.
Activity- A story/cartoon strip about an accident in the lab where their superhero is first on the scene.
Plenary- answer the questions before magneto pulls the objects to him (questions could be changed to cover topics done recently).

Key words matching pairs game
Equation practice in the context of different animals
Question and answer match up triangle game
Distance/Time and Velocity/Time graph mini whiteboard practice
Chapter 19 unit from the OCR Biology A A-Level all about genetics of living systems.
*The unit was planned with the intention of carrying out flipped learning whereby students do pre-reading on the topic prior to the lesson so that we can consolidate that learning with activities/exam questions during the lesson.
*
Including:
19.1 Mutations and variation
19.2 Control of gene expression
19.3 Body plans
Revision lesson for the 8A topic in the new Exploring Science scheme of work looking at food and nutrition.
Designed to be carried out as a carousel of activities with students moving between each of them throughout the lesson. The activities include:
Pictionary using keywords
Matching pairs game matching the nutrient groups to their roles in the body
Interpreting a food diary and analyzing to see if it is a balanced diet

A series of worksheets designed for a use on/after a sampling fieldtrip. Originally designed for sixth form Biology but several aspects could be used for a GCSE fieldtrip.
Worksheet 1: Ecological concepts- Explains populations, communities, abiotic and biotic factors and asks them to comment on different factors at the sample site.
Worksheet 2: Comparing plant communities in two different areas- Explains how to determine how many quadrats to use, how to randomly place quadrats, how to estimate percentage cover and recording tables for two different sites.
Worksheet 3: Taking a transect- Explains the different types of transect and asks them to comment on a transect they have taken.
Worksheet 4: Data analysis- Includes Simpson's diversity index and the chi-square tests, with worked examples and space to work out their own for each of them.
