Rounding off numbers is an important part of Maths and a very handy tool for everyday life. To introduce rounding off numbers to my pupils, I do an activity on the board using the numberline. This helps them to see it visually. It works for the many who do not understand why we round up for 5 and greater and round down for less than 5.
