Each sheet shows 4 items - 1 of these is the odd one out e.g. shorts, gloves, sunglasses and trainers - the theme is summer clothing and gloves are the odd ones out. Children can write the cursive words and colour the pictures. Children can compare the pictures on each page and say how they have decided on the criteria.

A worksheet for each season with a literacy link. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter worksheets follow the same format. The alphabet runs across the top to assist with phonics, spelling and alphabetical order. The key words that correspond to the pictures are written out for each season. There are pictures to name, colour and write the initial sound next to for each season. There is space for children to write a sentence about each season using the key words to help them. Children can then write out the key words in alphabetical order in their workbook or on paper/ white board. The first page of this resource shows a worked example of the Spring sheet.

They then match the rest of the pictures to the words in the word bank, adding the matching numbers. Finally, they draw their own Winter picture. Children write a sentence or phrase about the four pictures in the writing frame. Children cut and match the 4 word cards to the word and picture cards of Winter.
