Children write a sentence or phrase about the four pictures in the writing frame. Children cut and match the 4 word cards to the word and picture cards of Spring.

Have fun with your children this Easter or Spring with this Scavenger Hunt game. The idea is to place your colour posters around the outside area / playground or school for children to locate. They then mark off what they have found on the Scavenger sheets. There is a colour and a black and white version of the recording sheets. There are 16 colour posters included. There are also 16 sheets where there is a colour and black and white picture of each of the items in the hunt e.g. chick, sun, leaf and bee. A set of worksheets / activities based on the theme of the Community and People who help us. Learning objectives are included. Sheet 1 LO - To recognise, name and label people who help us. There are 12 characters in colour here each having a different role to play in helping us. Children can talk about the jobs that they do. Does any one person have a more important job to do than the others? Why or why not? Sheet 2 LO - To use text as a stimulus for writing thank you letters to people who help us. There are 2 examples here of letters written by children to a school cook and a postman. Sheets 3 - 4 LO -To show appreciation for our community workers by writing a letter of thank you. There are 4 colour frames that children can choose from to write their thank you letters or to help them with ideas for making their own. Sheet 5 - Shows some key words that children may want to include in their letters and space to make a draft letter.

Sheet 3 gives suggestions that may support the children in their choices and with their written work.
