Lesson for Edexcel Politics ALevel Introduction and Overview to Feminism lessons- this is a double lesson plus note making for homework on Feminism and its development over time. Begins with looking at issues facing women in the 21st century e.g. female genital mutilation, rape and sexual assault, gender pay gap, violence against women and girls etc- students discuss and swap articles and then the lesson develops from there. Introduces some of the key thinkers e.g. Perkins-Gillman, Wollstonecraft and Friedan as well as Bell Hooks.

Useful for Senior Leadership Links and Heads of Department/ Faculty/ Key Stage. My department recently had a very positive experience in an Ofsted Deep Dive. I have attached some useful materials to help other Heads of Department to support the process and to support their teams in what could be (but doesn’t need to be) a stressful experience. Firstly it is important to know- this is not a quick fix- you cannot pull the wool over their eyes if your department has a lot of work to do. However it is not a problem if you have areas of development as long as you and your team know what they are and you have a plan to address them. This is an overview resource/ learning journey for a Key Stage 3 History Curriculum and is a fully editable learning journey powerpoint. Useful for schools looking to improve their History curriculum- has been approved by Ofsted as an outstanding curriculum but can be further adapted/ improved. This is underpinned by key themes as you can see in the image. May also be useful for schools looking to build a more representative curriculum or move from a 2 year to 3 year KS3. Edexcel GCSE Weimar and Nazi Germany (Paper 3) but can be easily adapated for other topics or exam boards. This is a mega pack of source and interpretations skills activities and part modelled answers to build confidence in tackling this difficult paper. Our students performed really well last year after using these skills builders and we had an SPI of +0.55. The average marks for 8 mark, 4 marks and 16 mark interpretations questions were 2 marks higher than the national average. OCR Alevel 2022 Exam Paper detailed mock feedback powerpoint. This took me 4-5 hours to put together so should save you lots of time! Based on common misconceptions/ errors and mistakes. Can be adapted for other questions/ papers. Questions covered were: 10 marker : Causes of 1905 Revolution 20 marker: Causes of October/ November Revolution AND 10 marker: Causes of Feb/ March Revolution 20 marker: Stalin and control- propaganda vs other factors.

Edexcel GCSE History Paper 2: Superpower Relations Cold War This detailed lesson includes a lot of resources specially designed for teachers who are pushed for time- I have redesigned the course and covered it in just 6-7 lessons per key topic. This introductory lesson looks at the context of WWI and the new advances in weaponry as well as the key Battles of WWI. Very developed and detailed resources for students including video clips of documentaries about battles and key features such as the blood bank at Cambrai, the underground hospital at Arras etc. Examines the nature of Trench warfare and Attritional warfare as well as tactics such as Creeping Barrage to minimise injuries in the battles.

Edexcel GCSE Medicine Through Time This lesson looks at causes of/ symptoms of ill health and injuries in the trenches linked to weapons studied in lesson 1-- Battles. This source based lessons has students looking at evidence / information to find out about specific illlness/ injuries and the issues around it. Also has a match up exercise on who treated the sick? RAMC and FANYs looking at their roles on the Western front. Includes a retrieval quiz for the battles of WWI

Edexcel GCSE Medicine Through Town WWI Medicine on the Western Front Lesson looking at the developments in medicine during and throughout WWI Includes: Plastic Surgery–Harold Gillies Neurosurgery–Harvey Cushing Shell Shock- Seale Hayne Shrapnel Wounds- Carel Dakin method, debridement etc Blood Transfusions Xrays Thomas Splint Fully resourced does not require textbooks or any additional info other than the video links (supplied) and slides.

Edexcel GCSE History Medicine Through Time WWI Site Study This lesson examines the problems faced with the Chain of Evacuation Why was the Chain of Evacuation Problematic and how was it improved? All resources included no need for textbooks/ any other resources.

Edexcel GCSE History Superpower Relations and the Cold War Key Topic 2: Escalating Tensions Lesson 1 examines the second Berlin crisis, causes, events and consequences with detail on the summits which followed to try and de-escalate tensions between the USA and USSR Very detailed information on the powerpoint; no textbook or other resources needed- complete lesson which links to the next lesson; the Berlin Wall. Also includes 18 question retrieval quiz (answers on the slide for self/ peer assessment) on the entire topic 1: Origins of the Cold war.

Edexcel Politics ALevel Specification from 2017 but can be used for AQA also if slightly adapted - Comparative USA/ UK Politics Mega planning grid with many different 12 markers for US Comparative Government (not the theory questions) which has a mixture of fully planned answers, partially planned answers and blank for students to plan as a revision tool. Includes all the past paper questions (12 markers) and recent and relevant examples (updated for 2023) for the ones which are planned. My students have found these grids really useful. Edexcel Politics ALevel (Can also be used for AQA) This is a batch of revision end of topic checklists AND glossary/ key word sheets for all topics: Constitution Congress Presidency/ Executive Supreme Court and Civil Rights Democracy and Elections including Political Parties I have created some topic checklists for each topic from the spec with key bullet points for students to traffic light their confidence including key words at the bottom. For US Presidency and Supreme Court/ Civil Rights I have also included key case studies as I know students struggle with these. Included all key legislative achievements for Presidents from Clinton up to Biden (correct as of June 2023) Also includes useful tables e.g. how many exec orders each POTUS has, vetoes used, signing statements used etc. Included all key Court Cases which created policy for SCOTUS and key cases relating to the bill of rights.
