Homeostasis and response matching game
noordinarygirlnoordinarygirl

Homeostasis and response matching game

(0)
A quick activity suitable for GCSE biology students to help to familiarise them with new keywords within the homeostasis and response topic. I suggest that firstly students match the images to the keywords; stimulus, receptor, effector and response. Then students match the images to a full scenario e.g. A bright light is detected; the receptor cells in the eye pick up this stimulus, the effector muscles of the iris bring about the response of the pupil constricting. Activity is suitable for a starter task or plenary task. Note - the activity comes with the images and descriptions in order and will need cutting prior to handing out to students. there are two versions of the activity one is a jigsaw puzzle, and one with just images and descriptions.
