The numbers could be added together, subtracted from each other, the numbers could be multiplied or divided, depending on the age and ability of your class. This test is designed so different children in the same class could be doing the same test, but with different number operations. This means every child is actively involved in the lesson! Daily random numbers - Maths game. Every day I will generate 8 new numbers and as a creative maths teacher you can use them in the classroom. You could simply get the kids to make as many additions as possible in a certain amount of time, you could get them to add, divide, multiply or sort. If you stop the video after only 5 numbers, you could the class to work out how they can make 100 or as near to 100 as possible with just 5 numbers. It is a whole new concept in maths. Every day, for your maths warmup, you simply show them the latest video and then devise a simple, high speed maths game. You could even differentiate by getting different table to complete different tasks, all using the same numbers.

They might need to generate 4 digit numbers, the dice could be used to make 2 x 2-digit numbers for math class. I made a full 10 minutes of dice shaking so teachers could start anywhere in the video to get completely random shakes every time. This is also an excellent resource for students to use to work out the probability of different numbers coming up.

Year 6 Block 2 Wigan Maths Assessment Using YouTube and PowerPoint Presentations

(0)
Year 6 Block 2 Wigan Maths Assessment Using YouTube and PowerPoint Presentations I am now converting all my PowerPoint presentations into YouTube videos PowerPoint Combos. This means teachers can teach the lesson using either the PowerPoint or Youtube version of the lesson and then share the YouTube lesson with their students’ parents. This lesson can then be repeated at home as additional homework. I have always used the Wigan Maths Tests to prepare the students for their final exams. However, I wanted to improve it, so that I could ask a question and discuss the answer directly on the whiteboard and so I rewrote the tests as PowerPoint presentations. The students could do it together in the classroom or take them home as additional revision.
