Lots of different Year 6 (KS2) revision tests. What makes these teaching resources special? I have combined the different official documents, so you have the questions and answers all in one place. You can choose if you have the questions followed by the answers or if you prefer all the questions together, followed by all the answers together. This means it is much more flexible in the classroom as you can set a question, then review the question as a class or you can work your way through a whole test paper at once!

Talk a Lot - Spoken English Course - Public Domain Book
A Great New Way to Learn Spoken English
Elementary Handbook
• General Information about Talk a Lot Courses
• How to Use Talk a Lot Resources
• Focus on Connected Speech
• Focus on the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
• 100% Photocopiable
This handbook shows you how to use Talk a Lot materials to learn or teach spoken English,
as well as providing background information and practice worksheets on related topics, such
as connected speech, sentence and word stress, and the International Phonetic Alphabet
(IPA).
The Talk a Lot course objectives are very simple:
• Every student talking in English
• Every student listening to and understanding English
• Every student thinking in English, and
• Every student taking part in class
Talk a Lot is structured so that every student can practise and improve English grammar,
vocabulary, pronunciation, fluency, word and sentence stress, and interpersonal skills, by
working in pairs, groups and one to one with the teacher.
The main benefits of Talk a Lot are:
• Students have to think in English during lessons in a controlled and focused way
• Students learn how to memorise correct English structures naturally, without abstract
and unrelated grammar lessons
• Students learn how to construct eight different common verb forms, using positive,
negative and question forms, as well as embedded grammar appropriate to their
level. The verb forms studied are: Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple,
Past Continuous, Present Perfect, Modal Verbs, Future Forms, and First Conditional
• Students learn many essential vocabulary words by heart, including word stress and
the sounds of English
• Students learn how to become more fluent when speaking in English, by joining
together words in a sentence using the techniques of connected speech
• Students enjoy following a simple and effective method that produces results quickly.
This handbook is not intended to be an exhaustive academic work. The aim was to write a
brief, helpful guide and pack of resources that would provide a way into practise and
language work in the classroom, rather than a dry, analytical manual. For example, I have
deliberately avoided confusing jargon when writing about connected speech. Phrases like
“bilabial plosive” and “palato-alveolar approximate” – though fun to say – can be studied later,
or at the student’s leisure.
In 2016, there will be a new Maths test format. I have taken the sample 2016 Maths SATs tests and combined the original question and answer papers into single documents. This means you can ask a single question to the class, wait for a response on their mini white boards and then check their answers against the official marking scheme.
Check out my new video on how to make this lesson extra successful.
The great thing about this is it really reduces the amount of stress in the classroom as the students are able to work on their own, in pairs or small teams to work out the answer. They can then discuss their different strategies at resolving each of the questions..
This is a nice set of teaching resources to keep a lesson well paced and snappy.
Please leave your comments about it below.
I collected together thousands of different report comments used by the QCA to describe learning outcomes and created a whole school report writing tool for every class in a primary schools. It will save you hours and hours when you write your reports. I can now write all my school reports in an afternoon or a couple of evenings.
I have used this set of report writing comments for the last 10 years. I have included a link to help you download the freeware report writing software and also a step by step guide to help you get the most out of this wonderful software.
I have gone through hundreds of different teaching schemes written by the QCA and I have re-written their learning outcomes as report comments. It is now possible to simply click the different things a student has achieved in a specific topic and cut and paste it into your school reports.
I have made sure that for English and Maths, that it is possible to differentiate between high, middle and lower achieving children. Each report is still written with a single child in mind, and so every report still comes out unique and special to that student. The difference being you now simply add their name, their sex and click on the statements which are relevant to them.
In the past, I have received great praise for this material and often it has been described as a life or career saver, when teachers needed to produce a complete set of high quality teaching resources in a very short time.
Please note - due to the huge number of different files and comments I have produced, it is still possible there will be an occasional typo in the comments bank. Please read and check your reports after writing them to make sure they are perfect before sending them out.
Here are 34 different pictures of fruit, which are perfect as a PowerPoint presentation, or to be used in a wall display.
It comes complete with a 31 Teaching Activity Teacher Guide to help you get the most out of your teaching and this purchase.
Each slide is shown twice.
The first time, there is the name and the fruit to help students to learn the names of the different fruits.
The second time, they play the presenation as a game. They choose a random number from a game menu and name the fruit. They then click on the picture to see the name of the fruit.
There are endless ways of using this presentation. If you put the numbers 1 to 34 in a hat and asked the students to write down the names of 5 fruits they saw in the presentation, you could even make this presentation into a highly interactive game of fruit bingo.
Here are lots of different fun teaching resources for students who are learning to speak English as a second language, or for students who want to revise and improve their understanding of English. This is perfect for both an home or school setting.
FREE The Stick Man Story Workbook - 16 Thinking Hat Worksheets For Fun Creative Reading In Class.
The Stick Man is all about a piece of wood which gets taken away by a dog, picked up by a girl and thrown in the river... where he is found by a swan. At each point he is further and further from home and less likely to make it back... this set of worksheets looks at the different Thinking Hat approaches to this book. They will consider facts, feelings, positives, negatives, creative approaches and finally make a mind map.
This book does not contain any of the original drawings or text. You still need to find a copy of the book to complete this workbook.
I would love feedback on this work.
These worksheets are designed to be used time and again with different books.
These are designed to be used in guided reading sessions. Many of the worksheets are designed in such a way that a student can complete them independently. However, to get the maximum out of this book, I would highly recommend these worksheets are used to consolidate the learning taking place in the classroom.
Another use of this set of worksheets is additional homework sheets. I have used these sheets very effectively as a way of checking to see if students have read their book and do fully understand what they have read.
I hope you enjoy this book and that your students are inspired to take a more active, more motivated role in their own learning.

Are you teaching about number bonds to 10? Are you looking for a way to link your teaching into Bonfire night, Guy Fawkes or Firework night? Then this is the resource for you!
You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different calculations being shown in each of the photos.
You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about Guy Fawkes - Number Bonds To Ten.
The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different Guy Fawkes - Number Bonds To Ten. The students can then discuss how they solve each problem.
I like the students to see the questions and answers next to each other. It makes learning a lot more effective. You ask a question and then check the answers as a class. I have combined the 2015 test papers and the marking schemes into single documents. This means after every question, comes the official answer and explanation. This makes a lot more sense. It keeps the lessons fast paced and snappy.
The students should look at both sets of papers to get the most out of the test.
Please leave me a comment below about what you think of them.
I wanted to make Year 6 SATs revision more fun. I have combined each of the 2015 Past SATs papers for maths questions and the marking scheme into a single document. This means that a teacher can now show a single question and get the students to find the answer before moving onto the next question.
This makes revision a lot less stressful. I have removed the time limits and of course students can now work in pairs or small teams to discuss their different strategies and answers. It also helps to make the lessons faster paced and snappier as the children start to gain confidence in their abilities to solve maths problems.
This resource could be used in the classroom or at home to prepare for the UK Year 6 SATs exams. Students should try all the tests to gain the deepest knowledge of this subject.

This comprehensive pack of worksheets is not linked to any particular book or reading scheme and can be used time and again with different books.
These worksheets can be used as a class, independently or in small groups. The worksheets are well laid out and colourful. They could also be used as homework sheets. I use them to assess how much a student understood a particular book before letting them to change their book.
These worksheets were designed by a highly experienced, motivated primary school teacher to make reading fun and provide an interesting focus to the reader. There are masks to make for plays, mind maps to extend a students thinking, and lots of chances for students to really shine.
As this pack has worksheets from Year 1 to Year 6, there is something for every reader. There are worksheets for fiction and non-fiction books. There are worksheets looking at stories and others focusing on poetry.

You could look at it directly as a presentation and discuss the different uses of wood being shown in each of photos.
You could print off and laminate the photos to make an interesting, eye-catching display about the uses of wood.
The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into the different uses of wood. The students can then discuss why people uses woood for each of the objects.
The photos could also be used as prompts for creative writing, factual writing or descriptive writing.
I’m upgrading all my free teaching resources to YouTube Maths PowerPoint Presentations. I feel modern teachers are moving away from PowerPoints and I want something they can share with the class and easily set as support at home. This FREE Year 1 Maths Youtube PowerPoint Presentation - Addition and Subtraction - Autumn Term is a great introduction to Addition and Subtraction.
