Two Powerpoints featuring street signs and questions in English, which I have use to practise dictionary skills. The images in the first ppt have been used in resources I have uploaded before, but the images in the second ppt are all new.
Interactive drag-and-drop activity for a bit of random vocab revision in German. 35 words are embedded but the activity will select 10 words at random to practise each time it is opened. It will also arrange the vocab in random order. With any luck it will never be the same twice.
This is similar to meion Haustier which I uploaded previously, but has been edited to suit my Year 7 class. Five authentic blogs about pets, written by relatively young native-speakers.( I've changed the names of the writers and the pets.) The texts are followed by comprehension and manipulation exercises and a toolkit to help the students form a range of sentences.
Structured reading & writing activity for relative beginners. Students have to read the text and then come up with ideas to fill the gaps. Accept any ideas that make sense.
Aimed at Year 13, a series of activities on the topic of human cloning. First there is a gap-fill activity linked to the song 'Klonen kann sich lohnen'. This is followed by a T / F / NiT activity relating to a news report. Students then have to read and sort 18 statements about human cloning into 'For' and 'Against' groups. They must then analyse and categorise the arguments into moral arguments, medical arguments etc. This is followed by a translation into German and an essay title.
Powerpoint with nine slides picturing different types of holiday and with questions to support or provoke discussion. The Word document has arguments for and against tourism which can provide further support. The first slide on the PPT acts as a homepage. Students pick a number and are hyperlinked to an image to discuss.
Vocab quiz on the theme of SCHULE. Adapted from the "Who wants to be a millionaire?" template uploaded by ahardiment. This now works more like a traditional quiz. Students score 5 points for each German word they can give without any prompting and two points for any answer they get from looking at the multichoice options.
Activity featuring the 12 Olympics posters commisionned from artists such as Tracey Emin and Rachel Whitread. The Powerpoint aims to stimulate speculation, discussion, interpretation, a bit of guesswork, and suggestions for titles for the artworks. Lots of questions in French to structure discussion and (hopefully) get the pupils thinking More…. The title of each piece can be revealed with a click of the mouse once suggestions have been made. Typo now removed!
Notes are provided on the slides. You will need a copy of Martin Luther King's' I have a dream' speech. It can be downloaded from Youtube if necessary.

Students will need to have seen the first half of the film before doing this exercise. This worksheet contains a jumbled summary of scenes from the first half of the film. They should read the jumbled text and put the scenes into the correct order. There are quite a few adverbs and adverbial phrases to provide clues as to the sequence. Solution also supplied.
