Easy to follow lesson. Students have to organise information about the changes onto a graph before writing up speech bubbles for different types of women to explain how much their life changed and why it did/ did not change. Exam style question to finish.

I use this lesson as an introduction to history with all KS3 classes. Students are invited to pull objects from a bag and analyse the evidence before writing up their findings. This would also work well as a tutor time activity.

Kings and Queens of Britain 1066 - present day (44 A4 posters). Ideal for a classroom display. I have these laminated and have created a timeline around my classroom. Each poster contains a blurb and some literacy support so students can learn some new words. Ideal for new teachers who are looking to jazz up their classrooms!

Students attempt to sequence the events of the Battle of Hastings and complete a comic strip activity. Following this they need to consider William’s problems and identify the main problems and offer some advice on how to approach these.

A lesson that looks at the main factors that led to WW1. Activities include a card sort, a diamond 9 activity which leads in to discussions and higher-order thinking tasks before students write up findings in a newspaper report. Literacy support and a differentiated worksheet provided as well as clear step by step instructions.

A booklet containing a range of activities about life in the trenches during World War One. The activities look at the kit a soldier had to carry, the problems faced on the Western Front (source analysis and creative thinking task), daily routine activity and a No Man's Land task. The final activity requires the students to use their knowledge to create a trench survival guide for new recruits. This can be used for a sequence of lessons or as an independent project/ homework task. I teach this over 3 lessons (2 weeks). The lessons run themselves.

Easy to follow lesson on Queen Elizabeth. Students eventually make a judgement about Queen Elizabeth through, portrait analysis, card sort and discussions. Main activity requires class to create their own annotated portrait which summarises their decision. Literacy support/ differentiated materials provided.

An assessment paper on the Reformation which sets students up for the new GCSE. Three questions source based and extended response (16marker). Mark scheme and levels included as well as a DIRT activity for a follow-up lesson.
