An editable A-Level Chemistry knowledge organiser on Transition metals Ligand exchange reactions. Includes information on why we see a change in shape, colour and coordination number. Example equations are also given for ligand exhange reactions including partial ligand exchange.
An A-Level Chemistry knowledge organiser on Electrochemical cells. The file is editable and contains the theory behind Electrochemical cells and their calculations. Includes diagrams, equations and information on the hydrogen half cell, reduction potentials, strength of reducing agents, oxidising agents, how to draw electrochemical cells and represent them in cell diagrams.
A Knowledge organiser on the A-Level Chemistry topic Transition metals. Includes theory on electronic configuration, definitions, shapes, colours of chromium, vanadium and hydroxide precipitates, complexes and reactions with hydroxide ions.
An A-Level Chemistry knowledge organiser on the pH topic acid and base equilibria. Is in Power Point format and fully editable. Contains a summary of all the keypoints covered at A-Level.
A GCSE Chemistry resource on formulae of molecules. It’s a revision quiz which is a group task with students required to solve 16 questions. The group who solves them the fastest is the winner. The resource is edited so that it can be printed in the correct order and takes 5 mins to prepare a class set. Students write the answer to each question and show it to the teacher, if its correct they then progress to the next question.
An A-Level Chemistry resource on Enthalpy of Combustion. It’s a revision quiz which requires groupwork. Students are required to solve questions as a group. The winning group is the first to complete all 16 questions. Students breing the answer to each question to the teacher, if correct they then progress onto the next question. Questions get harder as students progress. The resource is edited so that it can be printed off and takes 5 mins to cut out and prepare a class set.
An A-Level Chemistry Transition metal revision resource including a game board and questions. Land on a square with a star and you have to answer a question. Questions are included with answers and are relevant for all A-Level exam boards.
A Card match exercise for A-Level Chemistry Transition metals. Students cut out and then match up the transition metal complex reactions and associated colours. Cards include reactions with hydroxide ions and ammonia. Answers are included.
A resource for the AQA A-Level Chemistry syllabus on colours of transition metals. Students cut and stick the transition metal complexes and match them up to their colours.
A resource suitable for GCSE Chemistry on naming of alkanes and alkenes. Students cut and stick the molecules into the relevant boxes. An additional circus activity is also included with the sheets placed around the classroom and students working in groups to complete the activities.
An A-Level Chemistry resource on redox titration calculations. The editable worksheet is differentiated with each section increasing in difficulty. Students complete titration calculations based on the redox chemistry of potassium permanganate, sodium dichromate, sodium thiosulfate etc. The resource contains one of every type of titration question they need to answer in an exam. Answers are included. Worksheet takes a double lesson for students to complete.
An A-Level Chemistry resource on the electrochemical cell. Students cut and stick the correct labels into the Electrochemical cell diagram. Answers included.
A resource on the A-Level Chemistry topic "Acid and base equilibria" focussing on buffer calculations. This editable resources contains several sections of increasing difficulty. There are examples of many different types of exam questions that students could get in an exam. Takes about a double lesson to complete. Answers are included.
A GCSE Chemistry revision resource on Quantitative chemistry (moles) which contains questions on the new AQA Quantitative chemistry chapter (Separate Science). The resource includes revision on one of every type of calculation they have to know to prepare for the new GCSE 2018 exams. The resource includes 16 sections (3 pages) of calculations on determining relative formula mass, moles, reacting masses, limiting reactants, percentage yield, atom economy, concentration, titrations and volume of gases. The resource contains answers for every question. Takes about 2 hours for the students to complete.
A 20 minute group work activity on calculating pH. Split class into 4 groups, each group containing all levels of ability (so that the brighter students can help the lower ability.) Each group given one of 4 questions to solve. Teacher circulates giving hints where needed. Once each group has solved their question (allow 5-10 mins). students then return to their original seat and have to teach the solution to their question to their colleague. A great way to encourage group work and has always been graded as an outstanding lesson when observed by leadership. Answers are included and a 5th question included at the end of the activity to illustrate progress.
