Also included are a brief PowerPoint presentation with lesson objectives, starter and plenary activities, and a set of social development cards. I get pupils to cut these out and make poster explaining why each kill is important and how parents and carers can support the development of the skill. Usually takes between one and two lessons

Tutorial for creating a basic logo in Adobe Illustrator. The tutorial was created in CS6 and includes screen grabs. Covered in the tutorial are; drawing basic shapes using the pen tool, adding text on a path (around a circle) and using the colour palette

Photoshop Tutorial for creating the 'Tidawave' logo, this was created using Photoshop version CS6. Pupils will need the two image files 'wave' and 'palm-trees' to complete the tutorial. Includes using layers, adding text, effects and adding layer masks. Tutorial contains screen grabs. I use with year 9 as part of my Brand Identity project.

A PowerPoint presentation with links to video clips showing children of different ages communicating. The challenge for the pupils is to correctly link the age of the child with the correct clip. It also encourages pupils to think about other aspects of development in order to identify the age.

The set resources looks at intellectual development and introduces Piaget's Theory of cognitive development. There is a clip which I use alongside the worksheet and a PowerPoint Presentation with starter and plenary. I've also included flash cards for the stages of learning to read (need to be folded down the middle, glued and cut up).

PowerPoint presentation, blank timeline and images for pupils to create a timeline for the milestones of physical development. I use the Pamela Minett textbook for the actual milestones. There is not enough room for pupils to write the whole milestone so I get them to highlight key words and summarise the milestone in 20 words or less around the image.
