Lesson in the series of Ancient Greeks which you can use in response to children’s interests, all linked to the theme Ancient Greece.
This lesson looks at where in the world is Greece, countries in Europe and provides a framework for pupils to carry out independent research using the internet, recording answers on a worksheet, giving a clear scaffold and learning experience to keep children on task and avoiding ‘copying and pasting’. It is scaffolded with specific questions linking to specific websites and differentiated for MAP (middle ability pupils), LAP and HAP. It covers literacy skills and supports reading for information, note taking and sentence writing.
Maps, objectives, review and teaching pages are included, along with the differentiated worksheets.
Pictures have been referenced and are taken at the British Museum, freepiks, flickr (non licensed, fully copyright free to share) and other sites referenced on the notebook, all copyright free for educational purpose
Looking at and interpreting evidence (guess the teacher from artefacts shown in the pictures on the notebook - fairly non-personalised so you could use as yourself to save time or adapt the notebook)
KWL activity to discover pupil interests and base knowledge
Jigsaw vases with follow up looking at the pictures to find out a bit about Ancient Greece from artefacts. This series of lesson plans was taken by a Lead Inspector for OFSTED/National Leader of Education and Executive Head for his own schools and training. He said they were exemplary examples of high expectations, carefully planned and differentiated lessons which engaged pupils fully.
Happy Sundays :)

Finally there are maths links and a true/false quiz as wrap up and plenary. There is a full unit you can download also at reduced rate. My lessons cover literacy skills and are matched to the New Curriculum.

This lesson looks at the history of how marble statues and marble friezes from the sacred Parthenon came to be in the British Museum. |The notebook presentation includes background information and leads pupils through learning and onto debate and letter writing.

I have been teaching over twenty years and have been an adviser and leader of teaching and learning in a school. I have been consistently judged as outstanding. I am still teaching and enjoy spending the time on thinking of ways to engage my class and to love their learning, producing high quality work.
I have tried all the lessons myself and used them in my own recent teaching.
I developed this unit for a Y2 class of withdrawal LS pupils whom had small group focused English lessons. It includes adapted PPTs specifically with lower language load but they can be adapted up or down. I have also included a few additional resources from other sources .
Detailed scheme of work with clear lesson planning. See also my guided reading resources for this topic. All pictures have been taken on site, are credited to English Heritage or to individual photographers from Pixabay and Shutterfly, copyright free.

I am an outstanding teacher with over 25 years experience. I hope this saves you time ... :) x
Please leave me a lovely review or any suggestions you would like me to change. I put week 3 and 4 into only 1 Promethian/Notebook file for each week as having used weeks 1 and 2 after making them I found it a pain to keep opening separate files if I hadn't finished them the previous day. Let me know which system you prefer or any other changes. But if you like them please rate my resources so they get higher in the searches, after you have tried them with your classes.
Thank you - I was a behaviour support teacher and regularly worked with pupils who needed to be able to name, describe and manage feelings. See my other resources too. Thank you for buying. Includes a transition game which was good for ASD kids too. You just need to draw some marks on a large white board or white board table for the counters or develop your own individualised game board. There is a base board but you might want to individualise it.. Also includes leaflets for training or for pupils adapted for each audience. There is group work for Autism awareness for aged 5-14 which could be adapted up or down too. Lots of stuff I have used successfully over the years
All images used are sourced from Shutterstock, Image source and Pixabay, Enchanted Learning and are credited to their authors. I used to give these freely and had over 11 000 downloads of my philosophy 4 children powerpoint alone. Now I am trying to build my resources to supplement my income!
