PRETERIT IMPERFECT ORIGINAL SENTENCE COMPLETIONS (No on-line translators)
Compose 20 original sentences using the preterit and imperfect tenses based on the clue words (ayer, anoche etc). There should be a total of 6 words minimum after the subject (yo, José etc). Circle the conjugated verb in every sentence and post the word count at the end of every sentence. Sentences must make sense to receive credit.
Example: (hablar) Anoche yo ____________________________________
Students will create and answer 10 original questions using the 10 irregular yo verbs provided: hacer, traer, salir, venir, poner, tener, saber, conocer, decir, and caer. The template for information questions is provided. This practice helps review question and answer formation. This practice can be assigned as homework or in class practice. If you want to make this into a speaking activity, students can also create questions and interview a classmate and write down the responses.
This activity has 16 personal questions with verbs that change meaning in the preterit and imperfect tenses. Verbs included are: querer, saber, poder, haber, tener, and conocer. Students can do this activity orally in pairs or it can also be assigned for classwork or homework.
A table with the meanings of the aforementioned verbs is provided. Ex: Querer: tried to (preterit) / wanted (imperfect).

Write an original sentence using the introductory verb (present tense) and the subjunctive verb. Sentences must be 8 words minimum and must have two different subjects. Do not repeat any subjects. Post the word count at the end of every sentence.
Subjunctive formula: Subject 1 + introductory verb (present tense) + que + subject 2 + subjunctive verb.
Example: Insistir (present tense) / estudiar (present subjunctive)

A speaking activity where students will use question words, ir stem change verbs, trigger words (ex: ayer) in the preterite to form their own questions and interview a classmate.
