Set in a minor key this slightly scary song conjures up images of tigers prowling swamps and jungles ready to pounce on their prey. The children will love creeping to the music of the verse then the more up beat chorus is about visiting tigers in the zoo where the children are completely safe. Create actions and get the children to compose or improvise accompaniments to the song and you could have a show stopper on your hands. Enjoy!
From the first song and the lyrics ‘Once a year at the end of term, the teachers are in a flap’ humour pervades this nativity whilst not detracting from the importance of the Christmas Message. There are many opportunities for solo singing and group dancing but there is also plenty to keep the children not on stage occupied singing choruses and performing actions in every song. The children loved the songs and easily learnt the script ensuring the show was a ‘Hit’ at every performance. A fun song written for a Year 2 class to link with their topic on 'Habitats'. The children went on to create their own song verses about other endangered animals and we performed our class song in an assembly. Actions really enhance the song log with percussion accompaniment.

The song tells the story of a visit to a Pet Shop where the children beg their Mum to buy a pet and are disappointed each time she says no however she succumbs in the last verse when she sees a cute little puppy and everyone goes home happy. The song was written for an end of topic assembly on Pets but it is a great addition to topic based music lessons on pets or animals. The song is a great starting point for rhythm work including dance and for creative music.
A sweet simple song written for 'Playgroup' children using the tune of the well known nursery rhyme 'Three Blind Mice.' The lyrics have been changed to fit in with a 'Mini Beast' theme and tell of a lady bird wearing ' A red dress with polka dots.'
A revised version of a short song written in the 90's for a nursery class. I have included more verses exploring the amazing variety of colours found in different species of dragonflies and given the children the opportunity to 'Dance now like dragonflies do,' in the chorus. As your children accompany the song with instruments observe how they pick out the complex rhythms of 6/8 time.
A busy bumble bee song where children learn to count backwards from 5, simple subtraction skills and practise vocal and listening skills whilst having great fun in the chorus moving in time to the music, buzzing and flapping like bumble bees. Why not listen to 'Flight of the Bumble Bee' by Rimsky Korsakov and encourage the children to select instruments to create their own 'Bumble Bee music? A great addition to a topic on Mini-Beasts

The soft shoe shuffle lament of a poor lonely slug in search of some tender loving care even though he admits 'I eat all the lettuces grown by your Dad' in the lyrics. A short but fun song that children will love. Suitable for use with Play Groups, E.Y.F.S and K.S.1. and a great addition to a topic on Mini Beasts. The children will love not only singing the song but could create their own dance to accompany the idiom of the music and have great fun accompanying the song with instruments.
