this is a set of 80 cards with various crimes and the maximum penalty. This is a great game to play when teaching about UK crimes and penalties - a good resource for covering Rule of Law in British Values.
Play it like The Price is Right - show one card, read the crime on the next card and have the group guess whether the penalty would be higher or lower.
Alternatively, you can use them for discussion tools and other teaching relating to fines, prison sentences and penalties linked to driving offenses, theft, fraud, criminal damage and drink and drugs.
These are tools I use in my job that are essential for tracking work to be completed, to show learner progress and for tracking attendance and retention. For use by Progress tutors and teachers who want an easier way to maintain and manage their own records.
This is a scheme of work I designed as a Progress and Destination Tutor. You can edit it to make it your own or make it more relevant to the subject you support. This is geared up for building trade students. It includes 30 brief lesson plans. Some of the resources on the lesson plans are ones I have uploaded to TES.
Lessons embed Maths and English where appropriate, and cover a wide range of subjects (see photo of contents).
This was a business plan project I created to get my learners thinking about setting up their own company, things they would need to be aware of and research they would have to complete. I spread this out over several weeks, completing an hour lesson at a time, beginning with a talk on the subject, then allow the students to complete their research and fill in the appropriate page.
This can be printed out or completed electronically to save trees!
This is a good, quick or extended activity which focuses on the British Values. The cards include the titles of the values to use as headers, and the learners can decide which cards go with what value. The cards cover various things that could be linked to more than one value, promoting discussion and debate amongst the learners.
This is a lesson introducing learners to the government, democracy and unions. An activity enables them to take part in a voting game, to see how democracy works.
You will receive the PowerPoint presentation and brief lesson plan for an hour session. of course, this can be used as part of another lesson and fits nicely with British Values.
This is a lesson on Relationships, covering:
Identify the qualities of healthy and unhealthy relationships
What to do if you find yourself in an abusive relationship,
What to do if someone you care about is in an abusive relationship.
There is also a document with cards for the activity, which you can cut out, or ask the students to cut out and arrange relating to things you can control and things you cannot control when it comes to relationships and other people.
This PowerPoint also includes activities for learners to think about their own challenges and mindset. It introduces the idea of a Challenge Mindset and traits of resilient people.
A PowerPoint for introducing Customer Service Skills. This can be used with the Customer Service Scenario card activity as it indicates the use of them in the PowerPoint - you can take these out if you do not wish to use them.
This is a PowerPoint covering employability skills such as work ethic, communication, listening, attitude and behaviour, asking for help and manners. There are opportunities to use the soft skills cards and the skills checklist.
